I'm just catching up, but I so enjoyed this conversation and, as was iterated throughout, there is so much value in sharing this stuff! As a women who doesn't yet have children but knows that is something I want, I am already thinking about job opportunities and crafting in the context of hopefully one day being a mother and what that means for how I need to ensure I am well set up (or as anyone can be these days!). Also lovely to hear the ways you are keeping connection with yourselves, while navigating new motherhood. About to send this link to a friend who is also a mum and I'm sure she'll take a lot from it too. Thank you!

I loved lots in this conversation and especially that Alice wrote whilst mothering. She didn’t wait for the there to be this elusive TIME (which from my angle, 8 years in, is the weirdest part of motherhood - that time stretches and contracts in small and massive ways. Time is never the same again after having a baby). Would have loved to know about other paid for care aside from nursery - I want women to tell me if they have a cleaner, if their partner is the cook, who does the laundry etc etc. Perhaps that’s boring but so much of mother-writers’ time to write is (or can be) sucked up by domesticity. Anyway, thanks for these conversations Marisa! Keep them coming x Catrin
